Could He Be Real? Check Out This Joker “Arcanifact”!

November 19, 2011 in Art, Fans by Fishie

Whilst surfing the internet last night, I discovered a curious site – Arcanifacts. Latin for “Secret things made”, this site is owned by one Mr. Scot D. Ryersson, a mixed-media artist with a taste for the strange, bizarre, and phantasmagorical. His pieces often reflect fantasy stories or horror tales and legends, and sometimes history as well. The site is literally a treasure trove of strangely beautiful pieces of fantasy mixed-media artwork, and one especially caught my eye – a piece called “Petals from the Joker’s Boutonniere”. Appropriately enough,  it was first posted on April First of 2011. ;)

Below is a brief description from Arcanifacts on this piece. If you want to read about it and see the pictures of it (and I highly suggest you do, it’s very cool!), then click here to go to the pieces’ page on Arcanifacts.

“April sweet is coming in, let the feast of fools begin!

Coulrophobia.

What is that, you question?

Let me tell you.

Coulrophobia:
Part of Speech: noun
Definition: an extreme fear of clowns.

Was that a scoffing laugh I heard? How ridiculous! How absurd! I hear you say. How could anyone be afraid of a clown?

Ask the people of Gotham City.

For that major metropolis quakes in terror of one.

The Clown Prince of Crime himself—the Joker.”

And by all means, if you like his stuff, support it! He does sell his Arcanifacts for those of you with an interest in the strange… ;)
