Dammit, I just keep revealing more and more little known facts about myself, don’t I? I like to do artwork in my spare time, as you’re already aware, but that hobby also extends into the digital sphere. I also enjoy creating pixel art, sprites, emoticons, and more, and I’ve even put that talent to good use. Case in point here – I’ve been more than meaning to put up a set of Batman-related emoticons I made at some point ever since I mentioned them way back when I baked some tasty Joker cupcakes, and it finally got too big for me to ignore. The following is a set of mainly Joker and Harley-themed emoticons along with some general Batman-themed ones – and yes, I sprited them all by hand, with some guidance from a set of basic forum emotes I downloaded and saved as templates. The cool thing is, if you mix together the Joker and Harley emotes, you can get a full set of emoticons for forum use!

The emotes you’re about to see were actually created for a now defunct Nolanverse Batman RP forum called Tales of Gotham, and later Gotham City High Roleplay. It was created by an informal group of Joker fans from FanFiction.Net known as the Why So Serious Crew, and I was initially invited to the forum through a PM on FFN. Tales of Gotham, or TOG for short, was a small but tightly-knit community with a lot of great people involved in it. It was moved several times in an attempt to find the best possible home for our little community, and I used to be a Moderator at this forum before it died a slow death due to everyone getting too busy to hang out anymore or getting lost during the move. In its heyday, however, it was an awesome place, and hey, its closure led me here in an attempt to find another Joker fan community, so that’s got to count for something. For all those reasons, and for all the friends I’ve made and kept through that forum, I’ve dedicated these emoticons to the defunct Tales of Gotham forum, the last relics of one of my first online havens as a Joker fan. It was a Hell of a great time while it lasted, and it’s a shame it had to go so soon.

If you would like to use this emoticon set on a forum of your own or otherwise, just let me know and I can arrange to send you a ZIP file with all of the emotes in it. If you’re so inclined, I can also even send you a nice ‘default’ avatar with a Joker smiley put over it, and two small under-avatar titles – one reads “Ringmistress” (both of our admins were female) in purple and green lettering, and the other looks like a bloody cut and reads “BANNED”. The purpose of these two banners should be pretty obvious.
