Life has been pretty full lately. In November, I was doing NaNoWriMo and school. I’ve been working on The Joker Blogs site trying to make it the best it can be, juggling yet more school, work, clients, art…if I’ve been absent here, I certainly apologize, but definitely could not help it. At one point, this was the only site I was really working on, then…WHOOSH! I might take it slow for awhile, but yes, I’m still here! I may be showcasing more of my art here, both Joker related and not. And! This is still a place for fans to post their own creations and pictures.
Just wanting to pass along some status! Hope I haven’t lost you all yet!

And I’m glad.
The last six months of 2011 had been really tough for me after my dad was diagnosed with cancer, and the time I had for blogging had to be shared with medical appt, hospital visit and the all milieu of things that cancer treatment go with leaving me little time to sit down in front of a computer. Luckily it has all played out well, my dad finished his treatment and seems in remission while I can go back to do what I like most….JOKERBLOGGING!!!
That said, I’m glad to notify that new posts have been added to my JOKER LAIR, including video of the BATMAN LIVE. Also , finally was able to figure out this SIMPLE FORUM thingy, and forums are officially open (again). So just register and let me hear you away. There is a lot of Joker to discuss.

I don’t know if any of the old dogs from the old RR remember my post about my upcoming Joker fanfic, The Neighborhood, but it’s now up and ready to go! If you’re interested, the first chapter’s through the link below. It’ll be updated about once a week, and the fic has nine chapters. Read, review, favorite me!
Synopsis: Robert Clearwater, a novelist who roams place to place in search of new stories, has recently moved to Gotham City with his family in the hopes of gathering inspiration for his newest story. The only odd thing about his new life is the strange next door neighbor in the abstract-looking house that likes to wear purple suits. After his curiosity gets the better of him, Robert finds himself thrown into an uneasy contract with one of Gotham’s most dangerous criminals, where any attempt to escape results in certain death for him and his family. Little does he know what kind of mind games his grinning neighbor will play with him…
Wanna read? Check out the first chapter here! No really, click it and read it.
By the way, go thank Harls Quinn, a close RR friend of mine, for beta-reading this fic for me. She deserves just as much credit as I for getting this thing published.

This is a seriously awesome gift, and a way to be part of an excellent YouTube Series! TJB has introduced me to some of the most fantastic individuals I’ve ever met. Scott, I couldn’t ask for a better friend than you, and I wish you and yours nothing but the best this holiday season…and that goes for everyone at TJB. You are all Class-A people. And…

Whilst surfing the internet last night, I discovered a curious site – Arcanifacts. Latin for “Secret things made”, this site is owned by one Mr. Scot D. Ryersson, a mixed-media artist with a taste for the strange, bizarre, and phantasmagorical. His pieces often reflect fantasy stories or horror tales and legends, and sometimes history as well. The site is literally a treasure trove of strangely beautiful pieces of fantasy mixed-media artwork, and one especially caught my eye – a piece called “Petals from the Joker’s Boutonniere”. Appropriately enough, it was first posted on April First of 2011.

Tomorrow at an (indecently) early hour I’ll be up and driving to Austin for Wizard World. This is going to be my first Comic Con, and while I’m not looking forward to the traffic and other stuff in that vein, I WILL be looking forward to hanging out with my Joker Blogs friends, getting pictures, maybe even some videos, and wandering in distracted fashion into the gaming section. If anyone else is going to the Austin con, please feel free to look me up. I’ll be the only one not dressed up!
Hopefully, if all goes well, I’ll be able to update here as well as my Facebook page and The Joker Blogs site. Not making any promises, not sure if I’ll be able to get the video on my phone to behave, but if so, I’ll end up adding them right to my YouTube channel: RancidRainbow on YouTube
